Childrens Pastor, Lighthouse London C of E Church, North West London

Closing Date:23/09/2019
Contact: Alan Gault
Lighthouse London C of E Church, Finchley Road, London, NW3 5HT
More information: http://www.lighthouselondon.org

The Lighthouse is an informal vibrant charismatic church community. We are based in tube zone 2 on the edge of central London and face onto a major urban highway. The community is both local and gathered, and is extremely diverse with people from many nations and from across social backgrounds.

Following a church plant from Holy Trinity Brompton 12 years ago, the church has grown to around 300 members, including approximately 35 children aged 0-11.

Our vision is to be light to the city and the nations, and we are passionate to advance the Kingdom of God led by the Holy Spirit. The Children’s Pastor will lead our Children’s Ministry at the Lighthouse, determining strategy for our children’s work within the overall vision of the church. This will include the strategy to manage, develop and grow Children’s work the Lighthouse, both within the church community, and in our outreach to the local community particularly through our role as the Church for Holy Trinity CofE Primary School.

We have a busy Sunday children’s ministry running a number of groups at our 1030 service (parented creche, 4-7 and 8-11 year olds). We have an attached Church of England Primary School who we host for weekly assemblies and other special events. There is scope to develop this work. We also partner with Kick London to run a transitions dance workshop for school years 5-8 (currently coordinated by the youth pastor).

We are looking for someone who loves Jesus and loves children and enjoys equipping and resourcing volunteers so that children feel valued in church and learn of Gods love for them. The suitable candidate will employ creativity in lesson plans for children and be excited about the possibilities in working with our church school. Full details in the role profile.

The church has planning permission and is currently fundraising to build a new church and community centre on our existing site.

We are also open to pairing this role with work in another department (comms, admin, worship) to create a full time role.
