Children’s Worker, St Mary’s Church West Kensington

We have exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to lead our children’s work. We currently have a small Sunday Club and regular successful holiday events. We are looking for some one with fresh ideas to build on this work.
The Children’s Worker position is part time, 15 hours a week. This is a 12 month appointment, which will then be reviewed in the light of funding. Salary is £7,800 pa (£10/hour), annual leave is four weeks.
The job will include working weekends.
1. To run the Sunday Club (during the 11am service)
2. To run school holiday activities and one-off children’s events
3. To build on links and work with Avonmore Primary School.
4. To develop a mid-week children’s activity at St Mary’s
5. To help out with other Church activities as appropriate
Essential skills required
We are looking for somebody passionate about teaching children more about Jesus. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and organised with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Relevant training or qualifications
Experience of working or volunteering in a Church environment
Proven experience of working with Children
If successful, an ability to start working as soon as possible.
An enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for applicants to be Christians.

Our aim is to demonstrate that Jesus Christ is real and gives purpose to our lives. Our focus is evangelism and bible teaching, showing God’s love in practical ways. Our church and hall are a venue for many local groups and events.
