The primary duties are to welcome and liaise with users/hirers of the three sites of Christ Church W4; ensure the building and environment is clean, safe, correctly arranged; and to assist with the smooth running of the church premises. The post reports to the Facilities Manager. and is part of the operations team. Flexible 16 hours p.w (Monday to Saturday including some evening working) at London Living Wage with overtime opportunities. Fixed term contract for one year.

Main responsibilities
1. Premises hire
o Set up the room/building as appropriate for the activity
o Ensure that the hirer is aware of all responsibilities as per the risk assessments and hire terms and conditions
o Act as Duty Coordinator for events, activities and services as required
o Return the room/site and equipment to standard lay out (or set up for next user as appropriate) and ensure that all equipment is in working order and correctly stored.
o Unlock buildings as required and to act as key holder for locking up buildings after events.

2. Building maintenance
o Report any missing items, breakages or damage to the Facilities Manager
o Ensure that the buildings are cleaned in accordance with approved specification
o Undertake your own cleaning responsibilities as identified by the Facilities Manager
o Carry out any emergency cleaning
o Assist the Facilities Manager in carrying out basic maintenance duties.

3. Verger roles
o Ensure the church is appropriately set up for worship after other activities have taken place.
o Ensure the church is appropriately set up for special services – weddings, funerals etc.

Person specification
o Be able to reflect the vision and values of Christ Church W4 in all dealings with others.
o It will be necessary for the post-holder to have respect for the Christian faith, its values and our organisational aims.
o Have good interpersonal skills
o Able to work with and encourage a team of helpers and volunteers
o Well motivated, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
o Able to climb stairs, do medium to heavy work including lifting and moving furniture and equipment
o Hold recognised first aid certificate or be prepared to attend training course
o The successful applicant will be required to undertake a successful DBS check
