About The Role

The Archbishop of Canterbury as Patron and The Bishop of London wish to appoint a Vicar to All Hallows by the Tower (City of London), also to be Priest in Charge for St Mary-at-Hill (City of London).

All Hallows by the Tower, situated in the east of the vibrant City of London and part of the Eastcheap Cluster of Churches – which includes St Mary-at-Hill, is well placed for the next stage of its development. The new Vicar will play a leading role in church and civic life in the City and will help the parish to discern new ways of working missionally, not only within the parish and the deanery, but beyond.

The successful candidate will be engaging and collaborative: to enable, encourage and inspire us and the wider community. You will be a team leader, able to lead us in worship as well as being a skilled and sensitive communicator keen to interact with all those who visit our churches – from those on the fringes of modern society to tourists and City workers to school groups and those whose lives touch the ‘Square Mile’. You will be committed, compassionate and community-minded; able to lead within, and contribute to, the life of the City of London in all its increasing diversity, and who will care for our past while looking to our future.
• Excited to share the Gospel in the City of London, collaborating with local clergy colleagues and the lay church teams
• A pastoral priest who is creative, liberal and inclusive; genuinely interested in our lives and the lives of all who come through our doors
• A skilled communicator and sensitive, engaging preacher: able to connect with those across the spectrum of Christian experience; someone willing to explore and develop the Five Marks of Mission
• An encouraging and supportive team player with the desire and skills to draw people together

We can offer you two engaged PCCs, two historic church buildings and dynamic staff teams, including administrative support, and the opportunity to shape and be shaped by this appointment. Our prayers are with you as you discern whether your future could be as part of our community.
