St Mellitus to host vocations event for women

Calling London: Women's Conference

On 3 March the Diocese will be hosting an event at St Mellitus College for women considering various types of licensed ministry, lay and ordained.

This event follows on from the great success of Calling London late last year, an event for anybody considering a vocation in the Church of England.

The day will be interactive, with a panel of speakers and an opportunity to explore different issues around female ministry through workshops. There will be space to think, pray and chat with others.

Visitors will be able to hear, meet and learn from senior women in the Diocese of London. The Ven Liz Adekunle, Archdeacon of Hackney will be keynote speaker and the Ven Rosemary Lain-Priestley, Archdeacon for the Two Cities will lead worship.

Lesley Bilinda, Dean of Women for Kensington and Vicar of St Andrews Fulham Fields, said:

“If I’d been exploring now, I’d have really appreciated the opportunity to meet and hear from women in a variety of different roles.”

A sandwich lunch will be available, following refreshments on arrival.
