General Synod Election results 2015

Session of General Synod at Church House Westminster

Elections to General Synod — the national assembly of the Church of England, commonly referred to as the Church’s Parliament — took place this month.

The General Synod considers and approves legislation affecting the whole of the Church of England, authorises new forms of worship, debates matters of religious and public interest, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at national level.

In the Diocese of London 27 clerical candidates stood for election to 11 places, and 44 lay candidates stood for election to 11 places.

The official results sheets and stage-by-stage accounts of the Diocese of London’s elections are available on the results page. Visit the Church of England’s results page for the picture outside of London.
