General Synod clerical by-election results 2017

An election count for the General Synod clerical by-election was conducted on 25 July 2017 by the Electoral Reform Services. The by-election was required for two vacancies, which were created by the resignations of the Revd Canon Philippa Boardman and the Revd Andrew Foreshew-Cain.

The successful candidates in this by-election are:

• The Revd Sally Hitchiner (Chaplain at Brunel University)
• The Revd Anne Steven (Vicar of St Pancras, Euston Road, and Dean of Women’s Ministry in Edmonton Area).

As the two vacancies had arisen before 1 August 2017, the ballot papers from the main election in 2015 were allowed to be re-counted to determine the result of this by-election.
