General synod clerical by-election 2020

A by-election of three members of the House of Clergy of the General Synod will be held on Tuesday 20 October 2020.

The General Synod is the national assembly of the Church of England, commonly referred to as the Church’s Parliament. It considers and approves legislation affecting the whole of the Church of England, authorises new forms of worship, debates matters of religious and public interest, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at national level.

  Notification to electors of the election timetable to be followed in the Diocese and issue of nomination papers  Friday 31 July
  Closing date for nominations Monday 7 September (noon)
  Issue of voting papers Tuesday 22 September
  Closing date for return of voting papers Friday 16 October (noon)
  Day of the Count Tuesday 20 October
