Christians in Sport launch new mission resources

What a year of sport we have ahead of us. From the Commonwealth Games and the football World Cup to tennis at Wimbledon and golf’s Ryder Cup, there’s an absolute feast of action to enjoy.

But did you know that more than 10 million people play sport each week in the UK across 150,000 clubs? It is a striking statistic and at Christians in Sport we are passionate about helping the church reach out to these sportspeople with the gospel.

And we are delighted to announce a new collection of resources to help people do just that, whether with professional sportspeople or at grassroots clubs. The Sports Mission Pack 2018 can be freely downloaded and has a dedicated website of tips and support. Since the first pack was released in 2016, the resources have been used by over 1000 people and churches.

The 2018 pack includes our latest multimedia sports quiz, plans for school assemblies and lessons, guides on how to run sports tournaments, evangelistic films and more. The new pack updates and builds on the 2016 and 2017 editions. With the football World dominating this summer, we will be adding an extra quiz and other resources to help make the most of this event too.

Churches could run a sports quiz during the Six Nations or mark the Commonwealth Games by hosting a multi-sports tournament. The resources in the Sports Mission Pack can be used at any time.

The pack contains everything churches and Christian groups need to put on a variety of events and encourage sportspeople in their congregations to get involved. Our staff team are also able to provide support at events, so those who download the pack are encouraged to get in touch if that is something they would like.
