In six years we have secured £500k+ in small grants for diocesan projects combatting poverty in London’s most disadvantaged communities. Is that enough?

All Souls Ivybridge wins the first Church Urban Fund ‘Together Grants’ award

At the end of 2013 the Church Urban Fund announced the new format and criteria for the Small Grant Programme to replace the Mustard Seed Grants. All Souls Church in Ivybridge has won a ‘Together Grant’s award for its work on the Ivybridge Estate, a multi-cultural community in a disadvantaged area.

Vicar of St Ann’s, Tottenham awarded MBE for services to the Tottenham community

The Revd John Wood of St Ann’s, Tottenham has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire medal for services to the Tottenham community in North London. This achievement comes after 20 years’ service at St Ann’s during which John has worked with his team to deliver substantial community and youth engagement networks across North London.

Poverty Sunday: 22 June 2014

Poverty Sunday – though you can hold a poverty-related service at any time. This annual event aims to raise awareness of poverty locally and nationally, and raise funds by a collection to support the work of the Church Urban Fund. Resources will be available to support a main Sunday service, and also children’s and youth work. Assembly plans for KS1 & KS2 have also been produced.

Bishop of Stepney chairs launch of the Church Credit Champions Network

The first step towards a national network of churches, communities and credit unions was unveiled at a launch in the St Martin’s Hall at St Martin-in-the-Fields church on Tuesday night.
