Building links between churches and schools: share your stories

As part of Capital Vision 2020, the stream of work to look at how schools interact with their local Christian community (and vice versa) has started with an exploratory phase involving a few meetings/interviews across the Diocese with some clergy and head teachers.

The purpose of this research phase is to establish:

  • The existing vision in the Diocese about our mission through schools and our ministry to schools and how it varies between different communities and schools
  • The training need for clergy, staff and governors to enable and enhance engagement between schools and local churches
  • Where and how there is need to encourage relationships with teaching staff, governing bodies, parent and student bodies to identify the needs of school communities
  • Areas of common concern to local schools and churches
  • How church and school resources could be made more available in the interests of community well-being.

If you have a story to tell that demonstrates a successful partnership between local schools and churches, if you have an issue or burning question that you are not sure how to resolve at a practical level and/or if you would like to become more involved in this project, please send your details to liz.rhodes@nulllondon.anglican.org.
