Bishop of London installs new Sub-Dean to Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal

The Bishop of London has presided on two consecutive days at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, in his capacity as Dean of Her Majesty’s Chapels Royal.

During the Eucharist for Epiphany in the Chapel Royal, a valediction marked the end of the Revd Prebendary William (Bill) Scott’s service as Sub-Dean to the Chapel Royal. Bill was made Commander of the Royal Victorian Order and Extra Chaplain to Her Majesty The Queen.

The following day, the Bishop installed the Revd Canon Paul Wright as the new Sub-Dean to HM Chapels Royal.

Paul is a longstanding army chaplain who has served with troops in South Armagh and Basra and as Chaplain of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. This is a return to London for Paul, who served as Chaplain of the Guards Chapel before going to Afghanistan.
