The Diocese of London is presided over by the Bishop of London who is assisted by four Area Bishops who exercise responsibility on behalf of the Bishop of London in their Areas. The bishops are assisted in their Areas by Archdeacons.
Parishes, chaplaincies and other christian communities within the Areas are grouped into deaneries, supervised by Area Deans.
The Rt Revd & Rt Hon Richard Chartres DD KCVO, 132nd Bishop of London, has direct pastoral responsibility for the Cities of London and Westminster, and is assisted by the Archdeacon of London for the City of London and the Archdeacon of Charing Cross for the City of Westminster.
The Rt Revd Adrian Newman is responsible for the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Islington, and is assisted by the Archdeacon of Hackney.
The Rt Revd Paul Williams is responsible for the London boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond upon Thames and the Borough of Spelthorne. He is assisted by the Archdeacon of Middlesex.
The Rt Revd Peter Wheatley is responsible for the London boroughs of Camden, Haringey, Enfield and Barnet, and is assisted by the Archdeacon of Hampstead.
The Rt Revd Pete Broadbent is responsible for the London boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and Hillingdon, and is assisted by the Archdeacon of Northolt.
The Rt Revd Jonathan Baker is a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of London. He is responsible for the pastoral care of parishes which are opposed to the ordination of women.
The Ven David Meara has been Archdeacon of London since 2009. He is also Rector of St Bride's Fleet Street, spiritual home of the media.
The Ven William Jacob has been Archdeacon of Charing Cross since 1996. He is also Rector of St Giles-in-the-Fields, the 'Poets' Church'.
The Ven Rachel Treweek has been Archdeacon of Hackney since 2011. She is also a member of General Synod and one of the first female Regional Representatives to sit in the Church of England's House of Bishops.
The Ven Stephan Welch has been Archdeacon of Middlesex since 2006. He also holds the position of Chair of London Diocesan Board for Schools.
The Ven Luke Miller has been Archdeacon of Hampstead since 2010. He holds the diocesan portfolio for Clergy Safety, Bishops' Visitors and Resilience.
The Ven Duncan Green has been Archdeacon of Northolt since 2013. Prior to moving to this diocese he oversaw the Church of England's involvement at the London 2012 Games.
