Improvements are not normally carried out between vacancies. If occupiers feel, however, that they have a particularly acute need, they are advised to contact their Area Archdeacon in the first instance.
The following works are not normally carried out:
Double/secondary glazing.
Separate shower rooms.
Carpeting.
TV aerials/sockets.
Internal decoration.
Provision of fire extinguishers and safety blankets.
Provision of cookers and white goods.
Entryphone systems.
Structural alterations i.e. making rooms larger to provide breakfast rooms,
utility rooms, additional bathrooms etc.
Conservatories.
Sanding/sealing/staining of floors.
General gardening - the Diocese are responsible for the pruning of large trees
where they present a hazard to the public, buildings or fences, but not shrubs,
hedges or fruit trees.
Upkeep and maintenance of garden sheds, summer houses or greenhouses.
The replacement of light bulbs, fluorescent tubes or security light bulbs.
In special cases, the Department or the Archdeacon can sometimes suggest alternative sources of funding.
