These regulations cover grants and loans from Area CPC funds, Area Pastoral Accounts, Area UPA Accounts and from the Diocese itself.
Grants and loans are only usually made available to parishes which are up-to-date with Common Fund contributions.
Grants and loans from Area Pastoral Accounts may only be used for repairs and restoration of churches. Grants and loans from Area UPA Accounts may only be used for work in UPA parishes.
Grants and loans from the Area CPC Accounts are available for a wider range of activities including Area work.
Application for a grant or loan from Area Accounts should be made to the relevant Archdeacon who will provide an application form and guidelines for that Area.
Loans from Area funds are usually interest free for three years.
Applications for grants and loans from Area funds are first considered by the Area Finance Group (if there is one) which will make a recommendation to the Area Council. The Area Council will approve or decline.
Application for loans from the Diocese should be made to the Financial Controller of the Diocese at London Diocesan House. The relevant Archdeacon should have been consulted.
Loans from the Diocese are for varying periods and interest is charged.
Applications for loans from the Diocese are approved or declined by the Diocesan
Finance Committee.
