Faculty Procedure- The Diocesan Chancellor's De Minimis List - Items of Work Requiring to be Authorized by the Archdeacon
Items of Work requiring to be authorised by the Archdeacon
- Replacement of defective gutters and/or drainpipes in identical materials
in accordance with the written specification of the church's architect and
the written approval of the Archdeacon if he considers it an appropriate case.
- Installation of security locks on doors and/or windows when the Archdeacon
is satisfied that they are urgently required and the type of local has been
approved by him in writing.
- Installation of a burglar alarm or security lighting or camera(s) on a
temporary basis where there is urgent need to protect the building against
burglary or vandalism pending the grant of a Faculty for a permanent scheme
provided the temporary arrangement is approved in writing by the Archdeacon
and the Diocesan Registrar is notified by the Archdeacon that he has given
his approval.
- Installation of a lightning conductor where the Archdeacon considers that
it is urgently required provided that the location of the wiring has been
approved in writing by the church's architect and by the Archdeacon.
Note: Any permission given under any of these items includes scaffolding
where necessary for the purpose of carrying out the work.
