London Challenge launch event

London Challenge 2012 was launched at a service of celebration and dedication in St Paul's Cathedral on 8 February.

The launch was attended by over a thousand people from parishes and organisations across the Diocese.

Bishop Sandy Millar interviewed three people, representing the diverse communities of London:

The procession was led by members of ‘Psalm Drummers’, a worldwide network of Christian percussionists. Tom Winpenny, Assistant Sub-organist at St Paul’s, and the New London Children’s Choir led the singing.

In his address, the Bishop asked the congregation what London might look like in thirty years time, and what impact we can have on that vision during the next five years. The full text of the Bishop’s address is available from the link below.

London Challenge film

The film is a snapshot of what God is doing the length and breadth of the Diocese. We hope that people will share it with friends and discuss how their community is contributing to the general construction work on the Holy City. Some ideas about how to do this are given on the London Challenge website.

Bulletin boards

Bulletin boards

Each of the London Challenge commitments outlined in the brochure is linked to a bulletin board.

Parishes and organisations are invited to post details of their initiatives on these notice boards so that our prayers can be better informed and so that others may be encouraged by the breadth and the quality of the work that is being undertaken.

‘Web updaters’ for parishes will be emailed separately about how to do this.
