What is our message and how should we communicate it? What methods work with different audiences? What are the most effective way of using our noticeboards, parish magazines, church buildings and literature to further the mission of the Church? How can we use the media to promote what the Church is doing?
These were some of the questions examined in a Willesden Area CME day on April 30 led by Neil Pugmire, author of ‘100 Ways to Get Your Church Noticed’. More than 70 clergy learned more about communicating with their congregations, their parishioners and the wider world. An accompanying website gives churches the chance to share their good practice with each other. See www.getyourchurchnoticed.com.
The Bishop of Willesden, the Rt Revd Pete Broadbent, said : "Neil Pugmire ran a very good Inset Day, on Getting your church noticed. His book, and the ideas in it, make a good resource for reviewing with PCCs or Leadership Teams how best to communicate to a parish."
