On 1 November, the feast of All Saints, the Bishop of Kensington licensed the Reverend Ann Clarridge as Associate Vicar of the parish of St Augustine, Whitton.

A full church, including the Mayor of the Borough of Richmond upon Thames and Vince Cable, MP, welcomed Ann, who will assist the Vicar, the Reverend Lyn Phillips.

‘The White City Went West’: Ann had previously been curate at St Michael and St George in the White City, and a crowd of parishioners from there travelled out to Whitton to support Ann in her new parish.

Bishop Michael said ‘Ann comes to work along with Fr Lyn and all of you to be part of a community of faith, to be a community of prayer and worship, to be a community of love and service. She comes with wide experience as a nurse and a teacher. Like your patron, St Augustine, like you and like me, Ann is not perfect – she simply, along with us and all the saints, seeks to walk in the way of Jesus.’
