On 10 September the Reverend John Teed became the new Associate Vicar at St Mary, part of the parish of Staines which includes St Peter and Christ Church. John had worshipped at St Mary’s before training for ordination, and he left to serve the Church to serve as curate at All Saints, Hanworth.
A packed Church welcomed John back to Staines, and the Mayor of Spelthorne, Councillor Andrew Hirst, greeted him warmly on behalf of the Borough.
The Bishop of Kensington, The Right Reverend Michael Colclough, encouraged John and the people of St Mary’s to be people who by their lives, through their prayer and action, help others to know that God is Emmanuel, ‘God with us’.
