Area Council By-Elections

Certain By-Elections to some of the Area Councils in the Diocese have commenced. Members of the churches in the appropriate Episcopal Area are invited to consider standing for election to their Area Council to take forward together our Christian life in each Area.

The nomination periods for the following By-Elections is Thursday 17 December 2009 – Tuesday 12 January 2010:

Two Cities Area Council - 1 clergy from Charing Cross Archdeaconry

Stepney Area Council - 5 lay from Stepney Area

Edmonton Area Council – 1 lay from Edmonton Area

Willesden Area Council – 1 clergy from Brent Deanery; 1 lay from Brent Deanery; 2 lay from Ealing Deanery

The role of the Area Councils includes providing support and advice to the Area Bishop on the mission, ministry and administration of the church in the Area; being responsible for carrying out certain duties relating to the Pastoral Measure, and taking financial responsibility for monies allocated to the Area.
