NSPCC boost from St Paul’s Cathedral School

21/10/09

Just over £4,900 has been raised by pupils, parents and staff at St Paul’s Cathedral School in the City of London, bringing the first half of a busy term to a happy end.

New headmaster Neil Chippington has described the first few weeks in his new post as "a wonderful mixture of getting to know people, getting to know the school and looking at everything that makes the school what it is."

He added, "Everyone has worked very hard to raise this money to help the NSPCC and we are delighted with the result."

The school has also produced the first edition of a monthly newsletter containing a wide range of features reflecting the life of the school community. The first edition features an image of a group of probationer choristers at the beginning of the Second World War, and Year 2's visit to see the police horses at Wood Street Police Station. There is also a report on team building exercises undertaken in the heart of the City - but for years 3-8!

Meanwhile, Head Chorister Joseph Arnander has his own column in which he writes:

"At the time of writing the Choristers are rehearsing for the Iraq Service in the Cathedral which was attended by The Queen."

St Paul's Cathedral School is a co-educational day and boarding prep school for boys and girls aged 4 - 13 which educates the choristers of St Paul's Cathedral. It aims to provide a first class education with a Christian ethos in a relaxed and family atmosphere in the heart of the City of London.
