The Diocese of London’s long-serving General Secretary has been made an Honorary Lay Canon of St Paul’s Cathedral to mark his long and dedicated service to the diocese. Keith Robinson is retiring at the end of September after ten successful years at the helm.

The Bishop of London presided and the Right Reverend Michael Colclough, Canon in Residence, preached at the service. Dr Richard Chartres gave a speech at a reception after the service thanking Keith for his excellent work in the Diocese.

The Bishop of London said that the "extremely high turnout was a testament to the high esteem we all hold Keith in" and that "even though Keith was laying down one responsibility he will remain a cherished member of the community."

Speaking after the service, Keith Robinson said:

"I am very honoured to have been admitted as an honorary lay canon of Saint Paul's Cathedral. I see it both as recognition of my work in the diocese but also as a statement of the value placed on the contribution which the lay staff make to the well-being of the diocese and the mission of the Church".
