The Bishop of Kensington, Rt Revd Paul Williams has presided over his first ordination service following his consecration in March this year - welcoming nine new priests to the Kensington Area.

The newly ordained Priests have already spent the past year serving local people in parishes across West London. Each one will now continue the work of supporting the growth and development of churches across West London.

Bishop Paul, who also led the new priests in a three-day retreat prior to their ordination, said:

"There are churches all across West London who are experiencing growth in numbers and discovering fresh ways to serve the needs of their communities. We need a constant flow of new clergy who will provide leadership and inspiration to resource this growth.

I am delighted to welcome nine outstanding new colleagues as Priests in the Kensington Area, each one brings unique gifts and insights that will enrich the life of the church in London."

The new priests are:

Anne Cowley (St Stephen and St Thomas, Shepherd’s Bush)
Timothy McGowan (St Matthew, Fulham)
Dr Vivian Thomas (St Paul, Hammersmith)
Guy Treweek (St Peter, Hammersmith)
Charles Hudson (All Souls, St Margarets, Hounslow)
Dr Julius Makoni (St Mary the Virgin, Hampton)
Toby Flint (Holy Trinity, Brompton)
Matthew Hogg (Holy Trinity, Brompton)
Tim Matthews (Holy Trinity, Brompton)
