The Venerable Stephan Welch, Archdeacon of Middlesex licensed the Reverend Alison Waters to the parish of St Mary Magdalene, Littleton on Saturday 19th July.
Alison will work with the Reverend Chris Swift, Rector of St Nicholas, Shepperton, as the parishes of Littleton and Shepperton work together to serve the people of the area.
Alison comes from the Diocese of Truro where she was Curate in the United Benefice of Lostwithiel. She comes with her husband, Alan, and they arrive as newlyweds: they were married just before leaving Cornwall to come to Littleton.
St Mary Magdalene was bursting at the seams as people gathered to welcome Alison to Littleton. The welcome was led by the Mayor and Mayoress of Spelthorne, Councillor Simon and Mrs Bhadye.
The Archdeacon said:
“We have looked long and hard to find the right person to serve the people of this place: I am delighted that in Alison we have someone well equipped to lead this Church into new life and service of the local community”.
