On Saturday 2 February a packed Church bade farewell to the Bishop of Kensington, the Right Reverend Michael Colclough, who presided at his final service as Bishop of Kensington. The service at St Mary Abbots, Kensington High Street, was attended by over 600 people who gave over £2,000 to help the people of Mozambique whose lives have been devastated by recent floods.

The Bishop of London will today chair a meeting of London’s Church leaders at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster where it is hoped a new ecumenical environmental guide for churches will be approved before being rolled out across the capital.

350 people from parishes in the Kensington Episcopal Area attended a day conference at St Barnabas Church, Kensington to hear the Bishop of Durham, Dr Tom Wright. During the day entitled ‘The Gospel in Tomorrow’s World’ Dr Wright focused on God, Jesus and the Holy Sprit in response to the political and religious climate that the western world faces today and in the future.

The Bishop of London re-dedicated St George’s Bloomsbury in the presence of HRH Prince Michael of Kent on 5th October 2006.
