Bishop launches 'Education for All'

The Bishop of London today launched the Diocese of London's 2008 Lent Appeal at St John's CE Primary School, Friern Barnet, after a special Ash Wednesday service for pupils at St John's church. The 2008 Lent Appeal is entitled 'Education for All' and aims to raise funds for the building of three primary schools in Angola and Mozambique.

Bishop’s Farewell Service raises over £2,000 for flood relief in Mozambique

On Saturday 2 February a packed Church bade farewell to the Bishop of Kensington, the Right Reverend Michael Colclough, who presided at his final service as Bishop of Kensington. The service at St Mary Abbots, Kensington High Street, was attended by over 600 people who gave over £2,000 to help the people of Mozambique whose lives have been devastated by recent floods.

Breaking through the Glass Ceiling

170 people from 20 parishes in the Kensington Area of London Diocese met on Saturday 26th January to hear about the glass ceiling that prevents church growth in congregations. Focusing on parishes with a usual Sunday attendance of 80 - 140 the Venerable Bob Jackson, Archdeacon of Walsall, spoke on how churches must be prepared to develop a different model of being church if they are to grow beyond the glass ceiling.

New classroom blessed in Brondesbury
