Music in the Diocese of London

Music is a valuable asset to the Diocese of London. Many hundreds of musicians - from keen amateurs to the very best professionals - enrich and deepen the worshipping life of parishes week by week.

London Church Music Forum

London Church Music Forum provides support for London’s Church Musicians by creating local networks, training opportunities and sharing of resources.

The inaugural meeting of LCMF took place on 20 October 2007 at St Paul's Cathedral. 65 musicians and clergy attended to hear presentations and to discuss the work of musicians in the Church.

St Paul's Diocesan Choir

Below are an invitation and a poster for the St Paul’s Diocesan Choir and its Events in 2009.

These are:

Singers are invited to participate either as an individual or with a group from a parish.

Places are limited to around 100 adult singers as we will be using the Cathedral Song Room.

We can take a limited number (total 20), of junior singers or trebles for these events, provided they are supervised at all times by an approved adult singer. If you would like to do this please phone or email me soon.

Please do publicise these events and give every encouragement for singers from your church to take part.

To assist with the planning and organisation of these events I would ask that those who wish to sing contact me by the 1st May 2009 giving their name, voice part and an email address.

Mervyn Hogg.
