St Matthew Westminster

Moot at St Matthew’s Westminster

In the last three years Moot has built an alternative, committed congregation of just under forty people as a Fresh Expression of Church project. All of these people were either dechurched or unchurched, and did not relate to traditional forms and patterns of church life.

Moot has developed experimental forms of worship and mission to relate to people living in the city with a vision described as ancient:future, drawing on tradition reframed for the present day. Moot’s web and blog sites receive 1800 hits a day. Its mission activities of arts and discussion events aim to give people who are spiritually searching opportunities to encounter authentic expressions of contemporary Christianity; to shift from being spiritual tourists to journeying disciples.

Moot is led by Ian Mobsby, a Missioner supported by the Bishop of London’s Mission Fund.

More information is available from Moot, http://moot.uk.net, and St Matthew’s Westminster, www.stmw.org. Moot also maintains a blog.
