St Philip’s Church, Earl’s Court Road in Kensington seeks a Director of Music/organist with imagination, energy and the ability to inspire people of all ages and musical ability.

We are keen for our music to reflect the growth and transformation in the rest of our church’s life. We want to encourage the whole congregation to use music in its worship, grow our choir and broaden our repertoire to include the very best music, traditional or contemporary.

Our re-ordered building close to public transport is a good concert venue. We are an open church broadly in the catholic tradition, using ‘Common Worship’ and an RSCM member.

Salary: £5k pa with six weeks unpaid leave. At present the only regular weekly commitment is a choir rehearsal at 9.30 am on a Sunday morning, followed by a 10.30 am eucharist. But there is a substantial job to do in building up our choir and transforming the musical life of the church.
