Senior Link Officer (volunteer)

LONDON DIOCESAN FUND
Angola, London and Mozambique Association

The role of Senior Link Officer has been created because of the expansion of ALMA’s work especially the Diocesan Lent Appeals between 2008 and 2012, which means that the current Link Officer is no longer able to fulfil all the duties and responsibilities on his own. The LDF seeks an experienced and committed individual to fulfil this three day a week role, based at Pimlico, SW1. The job involves undertaking both financial and administrative tasks as part of the Diocese of London’s partnership with its Link Dioceses in Angola and Mozambique. Reporting to the Chair of the ALMA Task Group, this post will fulfil a key role in the purposes of ALMA and its part in London Challenge 2012.

The essential requirements are:

• Ability to prepare accounts, although it is not necessary to be a qualified accountant.
• Ability to write reports, often with detailed financial information included.
• Meticulous in recording and checking facts and figures.
• Being reasonably computer-literate. (The post-holder will need access to a PC and email at home as well as in the ALMA office)
• Experience in working with, and supervising, volunteers.
• Likes to meet and deal with people in a way that inspires support for ALMA.
• Genuinely interested in being involved in the developing world and, in particular, willing and able to visit Angola and/or Mozambique at ALMA’s expense.

A job description is available from: Catherine Ward, London Diocesan House, 36 Causton Street, London SW1P 4AU. Email: Telephone: 020 7932 1100.

The appointment would be on a voluntary basis, with an annual honorarium and expenses paid.

Suitable applicant to start as soon as possible.
