Mission Development Leader in the Presbytery of Aberdeen |
The Church of Scotland in Aberdeen are looking to appoint a leader who will help develop emerging and fresh expressions of church.
In this post you will be expected to help the presbytery and its congregations develop their mission to the whole city. There is a desire by the majority of presbyters for the post to be used to promote the ethos of the influential “Church Without Walls” report and movement: pushing boundaries, discovering new areas of work, engaging with the whole of the city, and helping local congregations do the same. Though we don’t fully understand all the implications of what this might mean, the Presbytery of Aberdeen have expressed a desire to see new forms of ministry and church develop in our city and wish to appoint a leader to help us make that happen.
Applicants are required to have a Christian commitment and be able to uphold our Christian Ethos, which is a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulations 2003.
