Youth worker

Children’s and Youth Worker for the United Benefice of Holland Park, Kensington, London. (St John the Baptist & St George the Martyr).
Main function: to build on the established children’s and youth work in the two parishes, and bring strategic development for the future benefit of both parishes.
Additional functions:
Responsibility for direct work with young people, and for developing and equipping a team of volunteers to join in the work.
There is a missionary purpose, to create opportunities for young people to come into a relationship with God in Christ, whilst recognizing and respecting the boundaries of working in different contexts, e.g. school assemblies.
Overseeing strategic development work with children and young people (aged 3-18 years, open to negotiation) within the two parishes. This will involve planning, leading and pioneering new initiatives, with significant levels of autonomy in unsupervised work situations.
The initial period of employment would be for three years, subject to review upon completion of the first year.
20 hours a week
This post will require some evening and weekend work. This will normally include Sundays (maybe Sunday evenings).
Starting salary: £11,000 - £13,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
