AKC Course Administrator & Secretary to the Dean, King's College London

The Dean of King’s College London is responsible for ensuring that the religious and spiritual purposes for the College are carried out. He works with a small team comprising his PA (who is also Office Manager for the Chaplaincy team) and the AKC Course Administrator (who also provides secretarial support to the Dean and his PA). We are seeking to make an appointment to the post of AKC Course Administrator, with effect from 1 September 2009.

This is an interesting and varied role which involves providing high quality secretarial support to the Dean, and assisting the Dean’s PA with the smooth running of the Dean’s Office. The post holder is responsible for the co-ordination of the Associate of King’s College (AKC) course; this is the College’s original qualification, and is a general course in theology, philosophy, beliefs and values, which is open to all students alongside their degrees. There are currently 700 students taking the course.

You will need excellent secretarial and IT skills and experience of working in administration. You should have experience of maintaining records and committee administration, and ideally knowledge of religious affairs. There will be extensive liaison with a range of people, including high profile external contacts, so excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Salary will be on grade 4, £24,449 - £27,200 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
