Administrator (half-time), St Paul's Finchley

Due to the retirement of the present post-holder, we are seeking to recruit a half-time church administrator to work as part of our staff team.

St Paul's is an evangelical Anglican church with a clear vision at the heart of which is a desire for spiritual renewal and numerical growth.

The post involves:

• providing high-quality administrative services to the church in general and the vicar in particular;
• releasing the clergy, other paid staff and principal office-holders to focus on their primary roles and responsibilities;
• acting as a focus for church life, a communication hub where questions are answered, data is stored and information disseminated;
• being the church’s interface with the outside world, providing a friendly and unthreatening point of contact;
• managing a reception point for the church premises, especially in connection with the letting of our brand new £1.4m annexe to a variety of external groups.

In all this the aim should be to bring efficiency, innovation, confidence and a Christ-centred spirituality to the church’s administration, and thereby to enable the total ministry and mission of the church to flourish and our agreed vision to be realized.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about their faith, eager to serve God and his church, has a sense of calling to the post and the spiritual gift of administration. Ideal candidates will:

• resonate with our ethos and vision;
• have relevant administrative experience;
• be well organised, able to prioritise and multi-task;
• possess excellent IT and communication skills;

It is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post is held by a Christian.

Hours of work 0915-1245 Mon. - Fri. (but with some flexibility by
mutual consent) in the superb working environment of
our brand new church office.
Salary £8,417 for 17.5 hours a week (£16,835 full time
equivalent) reviewed annually.
