At the Third European Ecumenical Assembly (2007) official representatives of Europe’s Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican and Protestant churches recommended ‘That the period from 1 September to 4 October be dedicated to prayer for the protection of Creation and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles that reverse our contribution to climate change.’
1 in 3 children live in poverty in the UK today. Poverty blights children’s lives. Children who grow up poor often do not reach their potential and are more likely to leave school without qualifications, which impacts on their ability to get a good job and financially contribute to society.
The Coalition to End Child Poverty, consisting of children’s charities, trade unions, faith and church groups and organisations, urgently need your help to show public support for this pledge by joining us at the 'Keep the Promise' service, march and rally in London on 4 October.
