Most people involved in Christian community work spend time managing staff and/or volunteers. Some would say that their role has become primarily about managing others and although they would like to be good managers, they struggle. Although there is often the best of intentions, the reality is that often the busyness and pressure of work leads to a lack of clarity about roles. Too often the situation is not addressed and continues to spiral downwards, leading to disillusionment and contributing to bitterness. Poor management can severely damage the church's mission.

Rebecca Nye, the expert in Godly Play, will be running two sessions on Mondays 16th and 23rd November, at All Hallows Church, Twickenham.
This is one of seven roundtable events being organised across the country, with the support and involvement of the main Christian denominations, to explore the impact of the crisis in relation to a specific issue and/or region.
Media reports of damaging data security lapses are increasingly frequent. But it's not just high-profile Government departments that are at risk - it's worryingly easy for any of us to lose confidential data. Churches are not exempt: clergy, PCCs, church officers, administrators and other post-holders can all hold information on computer that is subject to legal as well as moral protections, and may not even realise that fact, let alone know what to do about it. This short course provides an overview of relevant legislation and a realistic selection of ways to comply with it.

Messy Church is one of the most exciting new ways of reaching out to families. We are delighted to host this training day and I hope that it will really help us to make our churches more accessible to children and families. Lucy Moore will be hosting the training she is a professional actor and storyteller. Based in the south of England, she is an experienced speaker, workshop leader and performer. Lucy is a member of the Barnabas Ministry Team.
Many schools and parishes in London have had great success using Godly Play as a way of engaging children with sacred stories. This day is for those already using this method to help them hone and develop their skills.
