Beyond the essentials of the content of the Old Testament, an appreciation of its distinctive spirituality is invaluable to a Christian faith. The topic simultaneously feeds minds and souls. Since there are a number of topics that are central to the Old Testament and which are barely mentioned in the New, taking time to study them is a sure way to developing a fuller and more biblical Christianity.
Through the classes we investigate the character of God that emerges from his encounters with his people, as he shapes and moulds them. Vital issues such as a concern for social justice, the difficulty of relating to a God who is sometimes absent, and encountering God in the mundane will feature prominently, as we consider how to enrich our own personal faith.
