Stand UP is a simple but powerful way of joining our prayers and actions with millions of people across the world, particularly our partners - in ALMA and other links, who want to see poverty made history and who long for trade and climate justice.
STAND UP is supported by all the major UK agencies, UN Millennium Campaign, Micah Challenge. Participating can be as simple as registering at www.standagainstpoverty.org and standing up and reading a pledge at services on 18th Oct (assemblies on 16th Oct). See the excellent Church Action Guide for more suggestions. This event can be carried out in workplaces, schools, and meetings and can be as creative as you want. Last year one of our Mozambican partners included Stand Up in a wedding service!
