Buildings

London is home to some of the most famous churches in the world. The capital's distinctive skyline is punctuated by church steeples and, of course, Wren's masterpiece, the dome of St Paul's Cathedral.

Residents and visitors to London can enjoy this rich architectural heritage by attending services at any of London's Church of England churches. In addition, many of the 37 churches in the City of London are open to visitors thanks to the Friends of City Churches. Details of events taking place in City Churches are listed in 'City Events'.

The maintenance of London's churches, parsonages and church halls is a major responsibility. Practical advice about how to maintain, modernise and care for your church is available in this section of our website.
